How to Reset Your BlackBerry ID Password on BB 10 and Others

This is a follow up on the last post on how to find your ID Username on all BlackBerry Devices. This is a quick step on how to reset your BlackBerry ID password on Blackberry 10 and other BlackBerry devices.

How to reset your BlackBerry ID password using a BlackBerry 10 device

1. Swipe down from the top of screen and tap Settings
2. Tap BlackBerry ID followed by Change Password
3. Tap Forgot password?
4. When prompted, enter the answer to the security question
5. Instructions to reset your BlackBerry ID password will be sent to your BlackBerry ID email address
6. Open the email titled ‘How to change your BlackBerry ID password’ and tap ‘Change your BlackBerry ID password’
7. Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields
8. When finished, tap Submit
9. You have successfully updated your BlackBerry ID password
10. How to reset your BlackBerry ID password using a computer or smartphone browser

If you are using a BlackBerry 7.1 device or earlier, you will need to use the browser on your computer or smartphone in order to reset your BlackBerry ID. This is a result of a security precaution that prevents the password recovery email from being sent to the device.

1. Navigate to: https://blackberryid.blackberry.com/bbid/recoverpassword/ using your computer or smartphone browser

2. Enter your BlackBerry ID username and complete the CAPTCHA characters

Note: Your username is the email address used to access your BlackBerry ID
A confirmation page will appear stating ‘A request to reset your password has been submitted

3.Sign in to this email account using a browser on your computer or smartphone
Look for the BlackBerry ID password reset email, the sender will appear as bbidpw-donotreply@blackberry.com

Note: Don’t forget to check your spam/junk folder!

4. In the body of the email, click ‘Change your BlackBerry® ID password’

5. Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields

Note: Answering a recovery question is only required if the BlackBerry ID account is not confirmed.
