How to Update your BlackBerry Operating System (OS)

For a better user experience, always upgrade your BlackBerry OS to the latest one available for your device. It allows you to enjoy the latest features.

The BlackBerry OS can be upgraded using different techniques such  as Over the Air Updates (OTA) or via the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Today am gonna show you how to upgrade your BlackBerry to the operating system that is available for your device using Over the Air Method. With this method a PC is not required. Using this method will keep all your data intact unlike the BlackBerry Desktop Method.

Note: Make sure your battery is fully charged before starting the update, chances are you may need to plug your battery during the update.

Updating your BlackBerry using Over the Air Method (OTA)

Go to Settings => Device => Software Updates
When you press the software, you will be notify if there is an update for your device or that your device is up to date.

It may take up to 2 hrs or more for the upgrade to be completed. Also during the upgrade your device will restart itself  several times to continue update.
